Most Apexians are parents of younger children and understand the difficulty in finding that elusive work/life balance. Beards and Braids was suggested by Donnetta Blackford as an opportunity for fathers to spend a few hours bonding with their younger daughters whilst learning to style their hair. It also provides an environment for dads to socialise with other dads (or at least commiserate over how hard a ponytail can actually be!). Under the patient tutelage of hair dressers; Cassie Matthees, Jacinta Byrne and Karryn Piper and armed with combs, lackies and glitter spray kindly donated by Price Attack, the two hours flew by and the troops celebrated with a discounted lunch kindly provided by Stilts Bar and Restaurant. Due to high demand, Beards and Braids will be back as a regular feature of the school holidays.
